On Syncing Contacts

I’m having problems with syncing my Contacts on the HTC Touch Diamond 2. These are the options so far:
- Outlook
- Gmail
- Microsoft MyPhone

You suck. Here’s why.
You subscribed me to free Value Added Services without my permission. I’m not interested if it’s free for 3 months. Your spam SMS says to reply with some code to opt-in and I ignored it. Yet you still managed to add me automatically.
Why do I get all sorts of “free” VAS when all I wanted to do recontract my broadband on mobile VAS? Why am I not able to cancel all these free VAS on the spot and have to call 1626 the next day to cancel?
The longer you work doing the same thing at the same company, the less you can write. For someone like me who doesn’t even bother to think about new year/birthday/*insert some event* resolutions, the more I have to rack my brains for something.
我的敵人不少,如…(以下省略50字). 現在最大敵人之一就是暗瘡!
I’ve not found anything nice yet. I’ll break it down by OS.
Symbian
I *love* the Nokia E71 form factor, but it’s a chore to surf with non touch-screen phone. No decent threaded messaging apps that I could find too. Conversation from Nokia’s beta labs isn’t all that bad but it treats number with and without the ‘+65′ prefix as different contacts.
OS X/iPhone
Good stuff. Fantastic Facebook app. Heck, I even prefer using my iPod touch to check my emails than using a computer. Email account setup is peanuts. But the lack of external storage means that if, for some reason, you need to hard-reset it, you would be left with a “brand new” phone. Not a major peeve, but I like to backup stuff selectively. And I still want a hardware keyboard, with QWERTY keys please.
Windows Mobile
I think I’ll go with Windows Mobile, even though it takes so many taps just to edit a calendar entry and the interface is very inconsistent among 3rd party apps. BUT there’s threaded messaging (it makes sense to me to organize all SMS by sender) and something else that just slipped my mind at this moment. There’s just a dearth of WM phones with QWERTY keyboards on the front. The HP ones are ugly like hell, Palm is well… (the Treo Pro is not priced attractively, and how long more can the company survive?). I’ll accept WM Standard (non touch-screen) phones too, but no one wants to produce new ones anymore.
So the search continues…
Therefore, when you request to add a stranger to your network, please include a message with your request. Otherwise I’m not going to be bothered to do anything.
Or is it look right, look left, look right again?
I’ll tend to make sure that cars stop or slow down before crossing the road at traffic lights. Why? So that I won’t end up under the car wheels of idiots who merrily cruise pass red lights while yakking away on their mobile phones.
Bought Byline upon recommendation by a colleague. I have to say that for US$3.99, it way exceeds my expectations.
Boring post. It’s less than a month to another new year. Really wished I spent my time in a better way.
I’ve never seen a headphone input designed this way — is it supposed to look this way?
Test post from the iPod touch.
